The paradox of volcanoes was that they were symbols of destruction but also life. Once the lava slows and cools, it solidifies and then breaks down over time to become soil - rich, fertile soil.
She wasn't a black hole, she decided. She was a volcano. And like a volcano she couldn't run away from herself. She'd have to stay there and tend to that wasteland.
She could plant a forest inside herself.

Hmm… the best way to describe this book? It’s like an intergalactic season of bachelorette with quite a few twists and turns. We’ve got our mysterious, brooding, distrustful “bad boy” and we’re not afraid to fall for him! Forced proximity romance with some ~spice~ 🌶️🌶️🌶️

Legitimately during one scene my mouth was agape in shock 😯 If you’re ready for a space love story, try this one on for size!

Meg has hilariously expressed millennial dark humor. This book is a quick and fun read that also delves into tougher topics of mental health and accepting your body as-is. I definitely recommend adding this to your TBR (especially if you’re a dog person 🐶)

This graphic novel takes a deep and personal dive into mental health, anxiety, personality disorders, how those things can be compounded by the stress of big transitions (like going of to college) and how it’s important to work to manage those elements of life through things like therapy and medication.

I really appreciated how vulnerable the main character was with those in their life, even when it was really difficult. I also loved how the author and illustrator played on the idea of side effects of medications being super powers. It was a unique take on talking about mental health that I haven’t seen before.

A very intriguing and authentic read, with diverse characters (queer, BIPOC, body diversity) and I highly recommend.
