I read this in a college class that is strictly YA books. Although this is something I would have never picked up on my own and it’s for an age group younger than me, I actually enjoyed it a lot! This book is great for teaching representation to middle school students. It not only has religious matters that are brought up, but other issues like eating disorders. What I love best about it is that the languages is great for middle schoolers. This is definitely a book that I am going to put in my classroom library:)

I really wish I didn’t watch the show before I read the book because the book was so good. It’s very similar to the show, so sadly I wasn’t as excited as I was reading. I am hoping that the second book is just as great!

This was yet again another book that I was assigned in college for my young adult class. Although it’s not really my cup of tea and it’s something I would have never picked up, I think it’s great for middle school or even high school students who are struggling when coming out as gay.

I really loved this book! There were certain parts that were really relatable and it’s a great book for high school aged students. I remember I was in high school when this book came out and I didn’t read it then, but I think I watched the movie. Luckily, I didn’t remember the movie so after I read it, I watched the movie again and I love the movie as well. It’s a super good coming of age story.

I don’t remember much about this book (read it in middle school and now I am in college), but I remember I loved it in middle school. I was really invested in it and even watched the movie and was picking out what happened in the book vs the movie. It’s a super cute story line and reminds me of the fault in our stars or five feet apart. If you loved those books definitely give this a go.

If this is on your TBR list read it!!!!
I absolutely loved this book. Just when I thought I had the right answers, Holly put me back to square one. This book is great for people of all ages. I am 21 and loved it, and the language is appropriate for middle schoolers. I am so excited to read her other two books!!!

I actually think I might have liked this one better than the first one. At first, it was a little boring I thought that Jamie was going to show up earlier on and then there be something else, but once the ball got rolling it didn’t stop. At one point I caught myself looking farther down the page because I wasn’t reading fast enough. To me that’s what a good thriller/mystery does. I really like the Bruinswick add in. It definitely added a lot of spice. I also loved how Ravi treats Pip.It’s so adorable! Can’t wait to read the last one of the series!!!!

This was a book assigned to me in my young adult class. Sadly, I didn’t really like it. This book is geared toward a young audience and I think that was most of the reason why I didn’t like it. I just wasn’t interested and kept falling out of interest. Since it was assigned, we talked about all the literary elements and why it’s important for kids to read and I agree. I think if I read this as a child I would really enjoy it. It has a great message about death, which would help a lot of kids who struggle with death. This is a book that I want to keep and use in my middle school classroom library.

Okay, so this is one of those books that I found at the right place and right time. My family has gone through a similar situation and I have recently just lost the member it has happened to six months ago. I have been going through many stages of grief and emotions that I never even knew existed. This book literally saved me. After reading this, I have made up my mind on how I feel on the situation and I am more confident and happy with what I decided. I think it’s the right decision.

But besides this book effecting my life history, Colleen Hoover is an amazing writer. This is the first book I have ever read from her and it blew me away. This is also the first book I have read that was for a more older audience, which scared me at first because I didn’t think I would understand older relationships. I definitely know why people love her and I can’t wait to continue reading her other works.
