I picked this one up after reading rave reviews from one of my favorite Bookstagrammers. In hindsight, I am starting to realize that this person may be far more intellectual than myself :). I can appreciate where the hype comes from on this one - the writing is deep, the character development is amazing. But......this was a hard read that requires a great deal of focus, work, and additional research. Reading is an escape for me, and this book just felt like too much work (again, I think the rave reviews are coming from those who are a bit more intellectual and don't mind a bit of work). Also, as much as I enjoy a good coming-of-age story, this one just felt so extreme and unrealistic on so many levels for me in the end. I would love to chat more about this one with someone (especially since I invested so much time in it! I would go into this one only if you appreciate the challenge of a hard read!
