Left to Tell: Discovering God Amidst the Rwandan Holocaust by Immaculée Ilibagiza

Wow! A truly amazing story of survival. How one woman's faith in God helped her live thru (in a bathroom with 7 other women!!) the pain of seeing her family slaughtered during the genocide of Rwanda. A must read for everyone.

I'm not a chick-lit fan -- but this was literary chick lit. The main character is a bibliomanic. She was rather entertaining. However, the book was saturated with profanity. Yuk.
The Gift by Richard Paul Evans

I actually liked this book. I suppose I'm a sucker for a book about a young boy with a congenital heart defect.

Delightful! Found myself wishing I lived on their island. However, ending was abrupt and unsatisfing.
My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult

Wow...what an ending! I certainly didn't see that coming! Didn't much like the romance btw the atty and case worker. And Jesse's problems seemed very type-casted. But overall, great book.

Oh my goodness this was dreadful. It never takes me three weeks to read a book. How on earth is this book a NYTimes bestseller? I'm not sure it even had a plot. Boo!
Maisie Dobbs by Jacqueline Winspear

A delightful, easy to read, mystery series, featuring a turn of the century female slueth, named Maisie Dobbs. The setting is pre and post WWI England. Historical, mystery and love story in one.
A Mercy by Toni Morrison

This was my first [b:Toni Morrison|6149|Beloved|Toni Morrison|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1165555299s/6149.jpg|736076] novel. I'm ambivalent about it. The most interesting character was Floren's mother, and she only had a voice in the last 3 pages. I really have a difficult time reading chapters in alternating voices. The female charcters really fell flat.
