what an absolutely fantastic book!

funny story follows daphne and miles as they are both processing their respective (incredibly recent) breakups in the apartment they now share. the only catch is that their exes are now dating each other and have announced they’re getting married in the coming summer. daphne and miles decide the only thing to do is tell their exes they are now in a relationship too, and have to stick to it through tension, drama and heartbreak. what ensues is emily henry’s signature wit, banter, tears and joy and what a marvellous book it was!

this book takes all the best parts of emily henry’s other books and combined them into one spectacular novel. both daphne and miles are beautiful and complex characters that were so authentic but still had that romance novel charm to them. they stand so beautifully as characters on their own and they compliment each other so well.

can’t wait for everyone to read it because this is potentially her best yet (beach read is always number one for me though).

this book tried so hard to be so many things and it couldn’t do any of them. the entire thing was boring until about 50 pages from the end and then the ending was just terrible and lazy. it gets two stars because the writing had amazing structure and with a different story im sure i wouldve liked it.
