- sports romance
- takes place in the world of NBA
- read with caution as the book is HIGHLY triggering
- scenes with domestic, sexual, relationship abuse
- foul languages used at times
- SA (warning)
- shitty mother (the FMCS mum)
- a bit of southern Louisiana’s charm
- pregnancy trope
- the MCs meet at a bar prior to the MMC first basketball game
- August is literally one of the best book boyfriends, underrated
- something I didn’t like however was that it was somewhat a insta-lust?
- Iris X Lotus best cousins ever.
- MMC rejected $45M just to be with FMC

- a queer ice-hockey romance
- technically takes place on a college campus but I’ll classify as upper-YA
- rivals-to-lovers
-height difference
- quick read
- discussions about mental health (Mickey suffers from depression)

Tbh, it could’ve easily been a standalone. I compare TDP to SCC and I’m just flabbergasted. SCC practically got me out of my reading slump and I remember when reading it, I couldn’t wait to get to the end and see what happened to the characters. I loved it. The writing was easy and great. Then came TDP and it was just… well, that. SCC could’ve been a stand-alone.
