Jesus and John Wayne: How White Evangelicals Corrupted a Faith and Fractured a Nation by Kristin Kobes Du Mez

An incredibly hard read for me, given how personal to my own upbringing the whole book was. I mean there's a whole chapter on Colorado Springs...

However, it helped put things that I've been grappling with for years into perspective and give me language to explain/heal from these teachings that were drilled into me. A potent reminder that the Christianity of Christian Nationalism was something *created and slowly crafted* by power seeking men and because of that, with the right tools and knowledge, it can be dismantled.
