I watched the movie ages ago and decided to read the book recently. Gosh I did not realise how much more gory it was than the movie. If you don’t like body horror then this is definitely not for you but I found the whole book fascinating. Going from talking about designer clothing (which happens a lot) to lunches and clubbing to full on mutilation is wild. I HIGHLY suggest you read the epilogue if you do read it as I think it’s really interesting hearing Ellis’ view on his book.

This book felt like a truly real account of what it feels like to fall into mental illness. It’s a book that I feel depicts it the best and without a slow and simple plot still reads fantastically and beautifully. It almost feels like a diary of the main character so you feel very connected to her.

I’m not the biggest Britney Spears fan but I had heard some hearsay about the book and I’m glad I gave it a read. It was sad but also really inspiring.

This book was part of a book swap for me and unfortunately it really wasn't my cup of tea. I found the characters quite unlikeable, especially Sejanus. The games themselves was quite underwhelming, and the relationship between characters is a bit meh. The redeeming part is I liked the main character.

I do have to say I was shocked at the plot twist, didn’t see it coming at all. But loved it and felt like I was along side the main character experiencing it all.

This book being from the 1700s or something makes this a very challenging read but worth it for the story. I’m not sure how I felt about the magic and sorcery part of it but overall I enjoyed it.

The ending on this book was jaw dropping for me, I had to put the book down and think “what the fu…”. Can be challenging at times to read as I believe the book is translated from another language.

The big is full of interesting info about past views on woman in art. The book is essay form and can be challenging to read but worth it.

The books progression is slow which is a good feature considering the detail the main character adds to the story but the ending feels extremely rushed given how intense it is.
