The writing in this story was honestly so good, I was expecting much poorer quality and ended up being pleasantly surprised. The plot wasn’t as strong as it could’ve been and the characters could’ve had a bit more complexity, but it wasn’t bad. The thing that really bit a chunk off this rating was the on page sexual violence—super triggering with no type of warning; I thought it would be a one off type of event, but it became a theme. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve read worse on AO3, but there’s something about this that just made me incredibly uncomfortable. I’m interested to see where the second book will go but I’m not sure if I’ll be reading it.

this is literally one of the better (if not the best) smutty romance I’ve read since Room 317 (1D fanfic c. 2011, hello!)
Miss Dixon put her FOOT in this book and I’m so glad booktok put it on my radar.
I have so many words but I’m gonna have to collect myself and come back later.
