Finally finished this book! Not my favourite Bryson book. It was a bit of a drag, and I didn’t learn as much as I’d hoped.

This is such a great book to dip in and out of, and the photography is so gorgeous. I liked how it was written in chronological order of countries visited. It felt autobiographical and that we could follow along Jessica Nabongo’s life and growth.

Such an important, emotional read. Took my time as there was so much information to take it. Not an easy read, but a really valuable one.

Not my favourite book. Every time I put it down, I basically forgot about it straight away. Story was super interesting but I just didn’t feel a lot of depth to any characters.

For some reason I thought this book would be a romance…. I found it so hard to get into. Couldn’t relate to any of the characters and it wasn’t as bookish as I had hoped.

I love how Jenny Diski writes. This was such an exploration of a very specific period of time, and it was such a joy to read (mostly). I like how these are such short bites to read at a time, perfect for commuting!
