I went into this book with very high hopes. All the horror book pages I follow had nothing but good things to say about it. It’s not a bad book per se but it’s just not as good (in my opinion) as it was made out to be. I definitely wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. I didn’t really care for the blogger parts of the book because I felt they gave away too much before you get back into the story. I thought the main story itself was a good idea but just executed poorly. I think if the author just focused on the main story itself in stead of jumping back and forth between the blogging, the interview and the story it would have been better. Plus, there wouldn’t be any spoilers to what was actually going to happen as the story progressed. This is my first Paul Tremblay book. Though I didn’t hate it. I wasn’t exactly blown away either. I’m still open to reading more of his books though. I think this one just wasn’t for me. Also, this book is labeled as horror but I didn’t find it scary at all. It is more psychological if anything. If your going to read this book just go into it with low expectations. Maybe then it will be more enjoyable.

If you have a fear of puppets or dolls this might not be the book for you. If you’re okay with that kind of stuff I highly recommend. It’s a very fun read and definitely delivers on that creep factor.
