The Dark Secret by Tui T. Sutherland, Mike Holmes

I loved this adaption of the fourth book of Wings of Fire! That being said, the fourth book was one of my least favorite books in the series because of the lack of action.
The art continues to be beautiful throughout the series, and I feel like the spirit of these books are well communicated. Super entertaining, can't wait for the next one!

Morning Star by Pierce Brown

wow. this book. as embarrassingly long this book took me to read, I thought it was delightful. more than delightful actually. great closure to a wonderful trilogy. and Pierce Brown though. wooo, his writing is good. I felt myself admiring his writing and world-building more frequently than I was invested in the characters. which says a lot because I was very invested in the characters. again, only deduction to my review comes from the slow pace in the middle. the author kept me on my toes throughout. it was a joy.
The Queen of Nothing by Holly Black

Ahhh. The Queen of Nothing. Wonderful book, a frustrating one, but wonderful nonetheless. My feelings were having a war inside my brain most of the book. But the plot was wonderful and kept me very intrigued throughout. This book went by too fast for me and I wish there was more to this thrilling tale of Jude Duarte.

Ah this book, i thought, was wonderful, and the ENDING! Oh, the ending. Man, anyways, I do not have any other words for this book other than I loved it and was mad at it.
The Wicked King by Holly Black

The intense plot line kept me on my toes throughout. I was screaming at the book all evening, but also weeping over its mocking pages. Holly Black truly knows how to torture the reader, while drawing them in at the same exact time. Ugh. The ending infuriated me entirely but enchanted me into reading the following book immediately.
The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
4.0
this book was super fun. I loved reading about the circus and each person's unique abilities, and what they could add to the mysterious and wonderful Le Cirque des Reves. What I loved about it was that there were essentially three timelines. The first being the timeline that follows the competition between two magicians. The second following a teenage boy with a tough case of wanderlust. And the third being the reader him- or herself. The best part is how all timelines come together at the end, and it forms a sort of circle ending. I thought the writing was both fantastic and enchanting. The way the perspectives of the story were laid out was hard to follow, but I got used to it.
Anyways, for those of you who are and aren't wondering, this book certainly brought tears to my eyes. The love story had me swooning--although it was very insta-lovey--once I got over that, then I began to love the couple.
