Giving this book two thumbs…down. From the get-go, the plot was painfully predictable, mirroring the typical storylines of a Lifetime movie. I found myself struggling to maintain interest in the narrative and had to take several breaks before finally finishing the book.

“The only way to learn is to live.”

What a literary adventure! It reminded me a lot of a mix of "Everything, Everywhere, All at Once" and the 90s cartoon "Pagemaster" (iykyk).

This is a book that will stick with you long after you finish reading it. It's a story that reminds us that everything happens for a reason, even if we don't always understand why. I will be looking out for more Matt Haig books in the future!

This book was definitely ‘out there.’ I think initially I liked it but the end was a little too bizarre for my liking. Maybe it’s more metaphorical than literal but either way it was hard to wrap your head around what was actually happening. I will say the author did do a great job of creating a world that is both fascinating and unsettling all at once.

I just finished my first Frieda McFadden book and I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised! At first, I thought the ending was predictable, but then the twist came and totally caught me off guard. It was a fun read, cheesy moments and all. If you like quick thrillers, I definitely recommend giving her books a try.

The way this book wrecked me. The impact it had on me as a mother and daughter is unforgettable. From the beginning, I didn’t want it to end and when I finally finished I was sobbing. After reading this, my desire to visit Alaska has become a must-do before I die. Easily one of the top reads of the year.

I initially picked up this book for Pride month and wow, it did not disappoint! It reminded me of the 90s movie, “The Astronaut’s Wife” but with more of an underwater twist. It was eerie, creepy, and kept me constantly guessing. I loved it and hope there will be a movie adaption sometime in the future.

I must confess, Freida McFadden has become my guilty pleasure author. Despite knowing her stories can be cheesy, I can't resist her books. This book ended just as expected, yet was perfect to read on a beach vacation.

I’ll start by saying I am not a non-fiction girlie, so when my husband recommended this for us to read together, I initially hesitated. It didn’t help that the first 75% of the book was extremely slow. The last ten chapters or so turned it around for me. That’s when I truly saw why people enjoyed this book and couldn’t believe it was a true story. It would be a great movie or drama series, so fingers crossed it becomes a reality!
