I’ve been in the mood for some dystopian action recently, and I’ve always loved The Maze Runner films, and have been wanting to start the series for a while 📚
I read the first book maaaaany years ago but my brain must have completely thrown the information away because I couldn’t remember ANYTHING and nothing sounded familiar as I was reading. This was kinda great though as it meant I could read the book from a totally fresh perspective. I already knew that the book was going to be quite different from the film, as my brother read the whole series a few years ago, and fore-warned me.
The main thing I noticed whilst reading The Maze Runner was that the writing style was a lot more childish than I was expecting; the writing wasn’t anything extraordinary. Still, this wasn’t necessarily a bad thing as it made it super easy to read though and stay concentrated on.
I also really loved the short chapters! Makes reading feel so much easier!
Overall, I enjoyed The Maze Runner and seeing the differences to the film, and I’m really looking forward to reading the 2nd book!

WELL, I’VE DONE IT! I’ve finally read all of the Harry Potter books for the first ever time! It’s been so long since I’ve read through an entire series and it feels so good to finally have it all finished!
(Potential spoilers below!)
In regards to the book itself, I did feel as though it was a little drawn out and tedious, but there were some really great moment in there. I enjoyed the comparisons to the last two movies, and I’m glad that they kept them pretty accurate to the book.
I would have liked to have seen more of Snaoe interacting with Harry right at the end. I also felt that a lot of the supporting characters didn’t have satisfying endings. Like FRED?? We had no closure at all for him. And what happened to Luna? I feel as though the ending was super rushed and everything was crammed in right in the last 10% and I just felt as though I needed a bit more detail to feel satiated. Stuff at the start of the book could have been whittled down and there could have been more detail in the end climax. To be brutally honest it did feel a little disappointing.
But of course, despite this, I did enjoy the last book and I was so excited to see how the ending of the book compared to the last two films.
It feels so great to have finally finished the series, and I’m looking forward to moving onto something new now!

WOW. That was an intense ending and honestly I’m HEARTBROKEN. I can’t believe there’s only one more book in the series! This is the first series I’ve stuck with in a long time, long time, and I’ve enjoyed it so much.
This book was great. I’m so glad that it wasn’t as long as the 5th book. Everything felt a lot more relevant to the story and I was able to stay more concentrated.
It’s crazy to think about how much darker the stories are now compared to the vibes of the first couple of books. Everything is looking pretty bleak, and I’ve really enjoyed seeing how the characters are dealing with certain problems. I loved the plot twists and the direction that the book took.
I’m so excited to start the 7th and final book!

I actually really enjoyed the first instalment of the spin off to My Hero Academia. At first I thought it was never going to be able to compare, and of course My Hero Academia always comes first but I really enjoyed seeing different characters in the same universe with cameos of some pro heroes from the main series! I was very sad when I finished the first volume and I'm looking forward to reading the next!

Sports isn’t usually my thing but when I started getting into Haikyuu I fell in love with volleyball. I started watching the anime first and I just loved it so much that I needed more content. The manga is a blessing.

*clutches heart* this is SO pure. Honestly I just!!!! If you love cute friendships that turn into falling madly into the depths of love then this is for you. I watched the film first and then when I started reading the manga I just couldn’t stop. It brilliantly highlights school romances and beginning of self discovery, no matter what gender you are.
At many points I was screeching in delight at the cuteness. Sometimes the artwork can be a bit striking but once you’re in the flow of things, it just adds to the beauty of the manga. I really love this one. Very cute.

An okay-ish volume. I feel as though not much happened until nearer the end. Nevertheless, I’m still excited to find out what happens afterwards. I have a feeling it’s only going to get better.
I just love the fact that it’s in the universe of the original manga. I’m hoping to see some familiar faces!
The art style is really cute and I sometimes find myself just staring at certain panels for ages in awe.
