Good gracious. I cried the entire second half. Jason Reynolds is a talented poet and narrator. I am in awe of his way with words.

I listened to this all the way through for the first time. Every time I tried to read it before I just couldn’t get past the first 5 chapters. At first I wasn’t thrilled with the narrator’s interpretation with the characters but not I’m on board. Overall listening to this story was a way better experience than reading it 😭

It’s very difficult for me to rate KA books. I obviously love this one because I’ve read it 3 times. But like. It’s SO cringe.

There was no chemistry in this book. Between any one. Also they used the one child character as a literal prop. There were multiple instances where she was apparently in the room but never spoke??? I could not suspend my disbelief.
