I am a fan of this series. I really like Charley and the secondary characters but something about this book really bothered me. There was too much going on, too many storylines and mysteries.

This was my first Best of collection and I enjoyed a lot of it. My favorites include: "AP Style," "Seven Days in Syria," "The Body," "Street Cleaning Day," "The Real Alan Gass." But above all of the others "The Man who Saves You From Yourself" and "Charybdis" were amazing pieces. They both were a little off beat but so real at the same time. Both are well worth the read.

I read this book many years ago and decided to give it a reread because of how much I enjoyed it the first time. This time around...not so much. Sophy was annoying and I really wanted to hit her most of the time. She was right out rude to most people, especially her love interest, which is just weird. Pretty disappointing considering it was high on my list of books that I liked.
