The level of sarcasm that Leon possesses, is the level I aspire to be at everyday

This is the YA fantasy adventure and heist, I didn’t even realise I needed in my life.
First things first, this is not a romance, the romance is all subplot, this book could have easily been written without and still hold it’s absolute worth.
At the start it’s slow, due to the amount of characters and the building of this world that sucks you straight in, the writing is fabulous and descriptive. As we move through the Acts of this tale, oh wow does it ramp up to a delightful crescendo of plot twists that had me gaping.
If you ever found yourself a fan of his dark materials, specifically Lyras’s Oxford then this is so far up your street. The characters are witty and so completely different to each other that you hold each of them to their own regards and grow so fond of them by the time this book wraps up.
I truly loved reading this and genuinely can’t wait for the next instalment.

How, when the plot was smut, did the plot start sucking? (Not in a good way)
