I just wasn't in the right headspace for a complex historical fiction right now.

A great third installment in the CC series; absolutely should be read in order, and you really should read Throne of Glass and ACOTAR books before starting CC.

I didn't cry as hard as I did at the end of CC1, but there were definitely tears. Sarah J Maas has done it again.

This book was like a warm hug. I adored every bit of it. It’s gentle and tender, and it perfectly captures all the beautiful and complicated feelings that come with pregnancy and growing a tiny human. 10/10. No notes.

It was a super cute romance, but I'd recently read another similar book, and I just had a hard time wanting to pick it back up. I may come back and finish later.

At the beginning, the main character is completely unlikeable. She admits to the being the villain, which I thought would be off-putting…but Sarah Brenton worked her magic and not only redeemed her “villain,” but by the end she was 100% human, and 100% relatable.

I was surprised by how much I loved this book by a new to me author.
