bring back coming of age books that are written by actual teenagers 🔥🔥
I actually can’t wrap my brain around the fact that the author was younger than me when she wrote this what am I doing with my life
anyways, this book captures the feeling of adolescence sooo perfectly and I had such a great time reading this, just wish it would’ve been longer 😔😔
ponyboy is probably one of my favourite character ever
what can I say 🙏

loved this so so so so much I read the last story in one sitting because I was just so amazed 🙏🙏
Simone de Beauvoir is such a genius, she has the potential to become one of my all time favourite authors for sure
I looove how this book focuses on women that are past their prime and how that affects them, I think this is such an interesting thing to write about 😭
all of the main characters are so individual and the author manages to make them feel like real people and to make you resonate with each of them for completely different reasons which is sooo impressive to me
I’m convinced that men could never write something like this no matter how hard they tried

I read this in one sitting 😼 and even though I kinda wish that this book was longer, I also get why it’s not and actually rly appreciate that yk??
If I was an annotation girlie I’d probably have underlines every single sentence, there are soooo many beautiful passages in this book
my god🙏
the letter on the last page already made me tear up and then I found out that the book is semi biographical???? what the fuck 😔😔😔

I never thought that I‘d read anything that has more incest and pedophelia than game of thrones but here we are!! 😍
I was honestly very close to dnf this book halfway through because I was just sooo confused with all the names and had no idea what was going on bc WDYM THERE ARE 23 CHARACTERS THAT ARE ALL NAMED AURELIANO 😃😃
I’m rly glad I kept reading though, the story made so much more sense to me towards the end and I finally understand why this book has such good reviews
the writing is SO GREAT I’ve honestly never read anything like it and the concept of generational trauma is implemented sooo well, I’ll definitely be thinking about this for a while

this took me sooo long to read but it was sooo worth it 😭
I LOVEEE art history and this made me love it even more
donna tartt’s books always leave me overthinking the purpose of life and questioning my existence and I love her for that !!!
this book could’ve definitely been a bit shorter tho 😍😍
but I do think that the slow pace was necessary, because you really get to know the characters and learn to love them despite their flaws, it’s something that I appreciate so much about her writing

I’m convinced that this book was written for me because not only does the main character have the same name AND age as me ‼️‼️ you’re telling me that this is also a sapphic summer romance set in Ireland in the 90s ????
I also cant believe that this is a DEBUT NOVEL what the hell
the writing was sooo beautiful and although the mc was really annoying at times and made quite literally the worst decisions possible, I found myself relating to her in so many ways 😣🙏 ily lucy
I also read this at the beach which made the experience 10 times better can only recommend xx

“it’s not easy writing about nothing” except thats kinda what she did but it’s still one of the best things I’ve ever read so I cant complain 🙏🙏
I also just looove to hear authors talk about their favourite books, authors and what inspires them to write its my favourite thing ever
