Not sure how to feel about this one! The first hour was quite slow and I thought I might DNF, but after that it got quite interesting. There are quite some subplots, and some questions left open for me. I was expecting a „The Overstory“ kind of book, which this wasn‘t for me. The main character was not exactly likeable for me.

It was nice to delve deeper into these complex characters and the lore of the elderlings realm. It is quite a long book but I felt like the plot was consistently going with the same pace. Can‘t wait to find out what happens next!

I really liked the idea of this book, especially the idea of how the silverbars work. I thoroughly enjoyed the first half, I am not so sure how I feel about the second half, but I was definitely engaged and wanted to know what would happen.
A word about the audiobook: the narrators did a good job, I liked the different narrator for the footnotes. However especially in the first half of it the audio mix was horrible, you can clearly tell when a sentence has been edited. Sometimes I thought that there were like 4 people saying just one sentence, which took me completely out of the story. Fortunately this got better in the second half, but it was surprising to hear in a professional production.

What an odd book. Reminded me of reading Camus or Kafka. I really like the prose.

It‘s a nicely written book and nicely narrated audio book. The story is not getting me so much, but I can understand other people could greatly enjoy this.

I don’t know… the first half was incredibly good and I could barely put the book down. After that it got a lot slower. It is written beautifully and the characters are all very interesting (except for the protagonist, who I thought was very dull and I kept forgetting his name).

Definitely my favourite of this trilogy. I thoroughly enjoyed the middle part, I just wanted to keep going and know what happened. Not sure what I am thinking of the end, but I definitely didn’t see that coming. I am looking forward to read more from this universe, however I saw that the next trilogy does not have Fitz as main character.
