This book really had me hooked from the first page, I could connect very deeply with characters. And I felt like all of them had somewhat interesting character arcs. I liked the dives into the art world and what it means to be an artist in the modern world.

I saw that many people complain that the story is meandering so much, which I did not mind so much. The narrator was doing quite a good job and I just wanted to listen more and more to him. However I felt that the end was to rushed and not developed enough. Will be giving it a go with the sequel for sure.

I felt like this whole series was very slow during the middle part with lots of things happening that hindered the protagonists to get to their goal. At some points I kind of forgot which side quests were just on. And then suddenly a very anticlimatic and rushed end imo. Still the humor and worldbuilding of Riordan is really amazing to me.
I am happy to see some kind of queer representation here, but they never even mentioned the words „queer“, „bi“ or „gay“. It felt a bit too safe, like something that a conservative person might be able to „overlook“. Let‘s be honest I would expect more from. a buch of greek demigods.
