Alexander Woodroe has it all. He has the looks, the charm, wealth, and fame. As a leading star in the hit show Gods of the Gates, he's not exactly being treated all that great. His character arc is being destroyed, he's dodging his old demons, and his post-show future still remains to be determined. Meet Lauren Clegg, a former ER therapist who needs a desperate vacation and time to relax. When her cousin pulls her in to essentially babysit Alex, she doesn't think it'll be too hard. Yet one scandal after another it proves to be challenging. Alex is determined to keep Lauren around because he really wants her. He's willing to show Lauren exactly what it means for a man to want a woman.

Alex gave me the absolute best vibes and I loved the different layers of his character. Lauren is such a nice compliment to Alex's personality. I really enjoyed how Lauren was able to highlight through her character story how being fat does not have to equal being silent/invisible. I loved the growth from her as a character and found her extremely relatable and practical. I also really enjoyed how Lauren took an aspect of Alex that most find 'rude' or 'annoying' and flipped it so that Alex could find his strength in that.

Did not finish book.
DNF - Might have just been my mood. I wouldn't be opposed to going back to this story at a different time but I just felt myself falling into a reading slump reading this.

I had the absolute privilege to read this through my work. This book focuses on Rohan, a young boy who is haunted by sinister Shadows that fuel his fear of reading. When the shadows become too much, Rohan accepts help from a very special book. This starts an incredible journey of love and acceptance for reading.

What I love about this story is the levels of depth within it. On the surface, this book is about a boy who finds the joy of reading. Deeper in the story, we get the message of what it means for a child to be living through adverse childhood experiences. My work in life is aiding kids who are going through adverse childhood experiences (ACE's) and this book takes those struggles and makes them tangible for both children and adults. I hope every child will be able to have access to this story as well as parents. This story is as much for children as it is for parents, to learn, heal and move forward from trauma.

I really hope Atlas decides to continue on with the Hell Handlers Florida because it’s just amazing. I love the group of guys and everyone has their own stories that are so individualized. This story in particular was really amazing for a couple of reasons. With Brooke we touch on abuse and how being financially abused can make things very difficult. We also talk about the justice system and how the police force can be corrupt with Curly. I love that this had a strong presence of dogs in it because it absolutely warmed my heart. My dog is everything to me so I could really understand Brooke and her connection. It’s also so refreshing to read about an older couple. I’m on my early twenties but there’s something about reading about two people who have had their own life journeys and are meeting each other a lot later in life. Overall incredible and I’ll continue reading any books Atlas publishes in this series!

Ahhh!! What a STORY! This book had so many layers to unpack and CAN WE GET A ROUND OF APPLAUSE FOR THAT POLYAMOROUS RELATIONSHIP??? I really loved seeing that come alive on page and the discovery of that working for the three of them!

something that stood out to me about this book out of the others in the series is the conversation around therapy! Also really loved how this book delve into the issues around cops and corruption!
