I was hooked on the book because the plot was unbelievably good and I had to know more about the mysterious place they ended up in.

It would be nice if there was more romantic chemistry between them.
It was a bit awkward how they quickly fell in love with each other, considering how long it took for the story to unfold.
Nevertheless, it didn't diminish how endearing each character was on their own. There wasn't a moment where I had any doubts about their motives.

I didn't realize it was a series for some reason, but now I am excited to read the next book!

I don't know if I can say with full confidence that Mackenzie and Noah had any chemistry. It felt as if it was just physical so the lovey dovey romance wasn't really there.

There were a lot of cringey moments which I admit I love sometimes but I didn't particularly care for them this time. I think it was harder to look past it when the characters weren't as lovable.

I am amazed at how a book can have so many trigger warnings and still be so wholesome.

Cyrus and Crow are dealing with traumatic events that make it hard for them to open up to each other.
Although Cyrus eventually comes around, it takes Crow longer to accept help and compassion from someone else.
The emotional journey is intense, but I truly enjoyed every moment of it!

One particular scene that stood out to me was when
Cyrus read the journal left by Crow's mother. It was an incredibly touching moment that brought tears to my eyes. I always wondered how Crow felt about Chosen in the present, especially since he still struggled with the memory of his mother's murder.

What I loved most about this book was how it advocates for mental health.
The story shows the characters seeking professional help towards the end, and
it is a powerful reminder of the importance of addressing mental health issues. This book was a beautiful and impactful read!

I tried to like Lara, but
after she physically abused Ronin I couldn't stand her. Even if he was technically a "robot", he was a robot with feelings! She also hits her nurse who made sure she survived from her wounds.
Her life story was truly sad, but her actions were questionable.

Despite the unpleasant characteristics posed by Lara's character, I was determined to uncover more about Ronin's story, which ultimately kept me engrossed in the book.

Ronin's character was the highlight of the story for me! The way he was portrayed and developed throughout was so captivating that I found myself completely immersed in his journey. Although the romance element was present in the story, I couldn't help but feel that it took away from Ronin's character, who was strong and interesting enough to carry the plot on his own.

The way the story concluded completely shattered me emotionally, leaving me in a state of uncontrollable tears!

The world-building was done well, immersing me in the story and making me curious to know more about Dacre's perspective.

I was initially intrigued by the possibility of Dacre
having a good side, but as the story progressed, I realized that his actions were merely the result of a god's human-like emotions getting the better of him.

While I still love Roman and Iris, I must say that the romantic aspect of this book doesn't measure up to the first book in the series.

However, the author did an excellent job of fleshing out the other characters, like Tobias and Attie. The book was filled with so many likable characters that I couldn't pick just one favorite!

The only criticism I have is
that I don't understand the reason behind Sarah and Forest's death, other than to give Iris more loss in her life.

The first book of the series does a wonderful job of introducing Kee and Varro in a 'I like being around them, but they don't know I like them' type of way that quickly captures your heart and makes you root for them from the beginning. Their relationship has a grumpy-sunshine dynamic that is thoroughly entertaining to read about.

Kee is a strong and emotional character, but not in an overbearing way that can be off-putting. Actually, her emotional side makes her even more lovable, and I would consider it as one of her strongest traits.

And let's not forget about the tension between Kee and Varro when they are forced to share a room. It's electrifying! The emotions are palpable, and the intensity is exhilarating.

The plot is equally impressive. Kee and Varro have an important role in rescuing people multiple times. Kee's tech-savvy skills are the main focus of getting the mission done, and Varro is always by her side to protect her,
even when he thinks he's not good enough because of the way Valoff vows work.

Together, they help prevent a war, and the journey there is captivating.
I can't wait to read what's next in store!

One of the most memorable parts for me was when the
MCs had a mature conversation about their child. It was a moment that showed their genuine concern for their child's well-being. I was impressed by the MMCs unwavering kindness and gentle nature toward Charlie.

The romance was mediocre, but I realized that the point of the story was about second chances.

That being said, I was a bit thrown off by the sudden
introduction of a stalker in the story. The stalker's presence felt somewhat disconnected from the overall plot and detracted from the book's otherwise compelling narrative.

Wow, the author's portrayal of the relationship between Tavi and Torran was nothing short of sweet! Although it was a slow burn, the tension and mistrust between them made their eventual love story all the more satisfying. I was surprised at how even the simplest moments, such as a hug, could be so meaningful and heartwarming!

I have a feeling the author loves her animals, as Luna played such a significant role in bringing the characters together. I'm all for a cute animal being written as an important character!

Although the upcoming book won't be from Tavi's perspective, I can't wait to see how their relationship develops through someone else's eyes.

The bright yellow cover of the book initially drew me in, little did I know how deceiving it was! It took a while for the story to build up, but once it did, I found myself hooked by the strange events that began to unfold. The author did an excellent job of keeping me engaged during the last half of the story, and I struggled to put the book down.

I realized that there were a few unanswered questions that left me wondering.
For example, I couldn't help but question if Ellerie's parents were still alive and safe. Also, I was curious about why Whitaker was released from his bonds when Ellerie wished for them to leave the town and not return. These questions left me feeling a bit unsatisfied, but I suppose it's up to our interpretation of what happens next!

The ending was a bit anticlimactic.
However, after all the twists and turns throughout the story, it was a relief to see Ellerie have a resemblance of a happy ending.

Stormy has gone through some tough and trying times in her life. She has finally found a place where she feels safe and feels as if she can let her guard down. Just as she begins to relax, bad things start happening again. Thankfully, she has Torin by her side, who is protective and will stop at nothing to keep her safe from harm. However, the constant secrecy surrounding their situation can be exhausting, and it often leads to a lot of repetitive back-and-forth dialogue.
