Did not finish book. Stopped at 30%.

In the beginning it felt like a rom-com, but then it started to look like a Netflix movie: an underwhelming combination of superficial characters with a weak/slow/repetitive plot mixed with lots of tiny twists that have no long term consequences. The guy went to live in a boat where everything goes wrong, but by the end of the chapter everything is suddenly worked out? lol

Very profound, bold, beautifully written. But the second half is very repetitive, and there's too much god talk after 70%. Now that I'm in my 30s I've come to the (surprising) conclusion that Clarice can sometimes be too wordy and too deppressed for me.

Katherine's writing is lovely, I really enjoyed "at the bay" and "the garden party"! Unfortunately, I thought most of these short stories were a bit slow and boring :(
