this one was slightly better than the first book in terms of structure but the characters are still annoying as ever (esp belly towards her mother like my god)

again I breezed right through this book so I can give it props for that purpose

I do have a new appreciation for the tv adaptation for fleshing out the characters more and adding new and old ones to the mix so in my opinion, just watch the show

my knowledge with this story extends to watching the tv series adaptation (which are the two seasons that are currently out) it’s not the best thing ever but I still had an ok time

now as for the book…this reads as very YOUNG adult. The writing was pretty juvenile, middle school me would have probably ate this up. Not that it’s a bad thing it’s just too young for me personally. I would give this to a 12 -13 year old as a gateway into reading (or maybe not cause there are better options)

there was a lot I wasn’t vibing with. The half star is for how quickly I was able to power through this book like ms Han was wasting no time. I think the Tv show adaptation did a better job in pretty much every aspect. I’m not trying to shit on this book, if you enjoy it good for you. I just had a lot of thoughts and felt like writing a longer review, and I’m still gonna read the rest of the series so yeah

this has got to be one of, if not the worst book I’ve ever read. I wanted to DNf so bad but I PAID MONEY FOR THIS GARBAGE so I felt I had to finish it

unfortunately this is the weakest finale I’ve ever read, especially for a >700 page book. Not the worst but definitely not the strongest. Luckily I did not have to wait two years for this to be released but if that was the case I wouldn’t be happy

Great read, I think anyone could benefit from reading this book. I would definitely recommend it as a good intro to intersectional feminism

yeah Cordelia is my favorite (love James but even without being under Grace’s spell, he is so oblivious)

while I was enjoying every minute reading this, I’d say it’s a very close second to TID.

Why was the majority of this book about a revived side character and whether or not he remembers he’s previous life
