I first read this just 4 months ago but I was compelled, forced even, to re-read because I just CAN NOT stop thinking about this. There is nothing to be loved or admired. I'm changed as a person. I'm disgusted. Everything is tattooed on my retinae. Will never peel an apple the same again.

this had the potential to be so much more, not necessarily disappointed in the book but myself for getting my expectations so high (and yes, the 4 stars means I did like it and would recommend it :)

I hated the whole persona of Marcus Goldman and the glorification of Harry's and Nola's so-called love made me sick. Stayed for the mystery but it got worse as the story went on far too long. Especially the final third part of the book made me angry, even — just stick to something and don't rely on tragic plot twists and shock effects to avoid reaching a conclusion. The ending was unbelievable and left me very unsatisfied.
