This book reads like a shallow dystopia novel. If you are looking for a book about early periods of dystopian societies and what they were like in their beginning stages, there are better books. That being said, this book does offer some lessons on the value of compassion and understanding.

I love the way this author is able to bring out the thoughts of his characters and write them in such a realistic way. He does a fantastic job of giving voice to that voice in our heads, to our hopes, anxieties, fears, and apathy
