How much I like this book is really complicated. I really love some of the characters, and I really dont love others. I dont forgive some characters for mistakes that they made and I think that the readers are supposed to by the end of the book. If those mistakes hadnt been made I probably would have given the book a 4.5 or maybe even a 5. It was very well written and the characters that I do love, I love very very much. I love the subtle magic themes and the world that the author built. I dont think everyone will be as disappointment about the mistakes that were made as I was, so I still recommend the book

this is by far my favorite book of the series so far, it can be hard for me to get attached to characters in novellas but i'm completely hooked at this point. This book made me cry, I love everyone in it so much. They are my family

If you strongly relate to the college experience depicted in media then this book will probably be fun for you, but if you dont then you will just find the characters boring and too normal to have been worth writing about, however the writing is very well done and the way the emotions of the characters is portrayed is easy to follow along with even if you cant relate.

I read Chef's Choice first and I gotta say I definitely prefer that one over this one. It was just very difficult to empathize with Simone, a cis person, struggling with the transphobia her love interest faced and making it all about her for over half of the book. It still gets 4 stars because TJ Alexander is an incredible writer. The way they write transphobia is so painfully realistic and Ray was such a loveable character, definitley worth struggling through Simone's cis guilt for.

I gave the other two books in this series 5 stars, this one lost a star because its just so confusing. The other two are confusing as well, but I think they are sort of supposed to be and I love them anyway. I was still able to follow the plot just fine. I still loved this book, I would die for most of the characters I love them so much, and the universe Tamsyn created is phenomenal. I just wish I could tell you the first John-damn thing about it.

I've never been one to read a rom-com but this book was recommended to me by a friend and I'm so so glad I read it. If youre just getting into rom-coms I definitely recommend this book for you. It was so wholesome and healing, I found myself often tensing waiting for one of the main characters to be transphobic and exhaling in relief when I remembered that that would never happen in this story.
