not really what I expected. Sort of just Christian propaganda. Was hoping for a story about a mom and her son who still get along despite their differences but they didnt really get along at all, I think they actually didnt really like each other very much and the ending was really underwhelming

It was good until the tasteless trans joke. I could almost overlook the sexism until it got too much. This book wont be for you if you are educated about current events and political issues but I can see why someone who isnt might find it heartwarming

the writing isnt great, but I gave it a 3 anyway because I like the show so I enjoyed the book because it took place in the same universe with the same characters. Lets be honest, the shows writing isnt that good either so it fits

I know the book has been out for a while and everyone seems to know the story, but I knew very little about it going into it. I had never seen the movie and I was too young when the book came out to read it. It was different from what I expected, but a truly good story. I have never read anything so honest before

The only reason that I didnt give it zero stars is because the writing was better than something that had never seen an editor, however there were a lot of typos.

Was really hoping for some character growth between the first and second book, since he went to AA and was sober now. He just seems like a dry drunk, now, though. It's not that it's badly written, it's just that I don't even know what the attraction to it is. He's so unlikeable that it's almost painful to read
