Hmmm. idk lol. i was hype coming off fourth wing, but this one didn’t do much for me. Honestly could have been 200 pages shorter. i found myself wanting to skip through so much of it. the
fact that they were about to die the entire book made the final battle
scene just numbing and there’s were sooo many new characters that just didn’t even get developed or introduced for any sort of purpose and by the end of the book i couldn’t even tell you who some of the names were. I feel like 30% of the novel was irrelevant to the overall plot too. idk i was soo bored towards the end and i was skimmimg so many things that weren’t Xaden and violet scenes 😂
even the romance was like eh 7/10

WOW. i’m in pain, but Im willing to be 😂
I didn’t fully appreciate how good it was until the end when so many aspect of the story came together. The complexity of the plot was a strength of this book for me. Despite knowing some details about the book from sm, i was still so hooked and shocked by the way it all played out. I will say however, i couldn’t help but notice all the striking similarities to the plot, characters, and themes of acotar lol. But it was still really gripping nonetheless. I did find myself wishing Xaden had given us a bit more, but i expect we’ll probably see that in book 2 as he’s willing to be more open with Violet and earn her trust back.

This book was so boring because there was genuinely no plot except them dating while he was opening a bar 😂. But 2 the stars I give are cause the characters were actually dimensional and they had some good banter and cute moments

This was disappointing. Dominic actually gave me the ick. I was more interested in the glimpses of Dante and vivian than the Mc’s. Also the plot was so anti-climactic. It didn’t really feel like there was one beyond Dominic showing up everywhere she was and either ruining her dates or following her around until she caved. Then when they finally got back together at the VERY END… it was like ok…?? lol

What the heck i did not expect to get as invested as i did! i really fell in love with them in the last 30% of the book and Dante’s chase and vulnerability was 🥹. Ugh this was so wholesome. The writing was good, this was one of the better books from this author in my opinion.

It got better at the end but this one was hard to get into. I feel like the romance was going nowhere and then all the sudden flipped on a dime 60% of the way through 😂. The characters inner dialogue made no sense at times and dragged on, but once they got together they were cute.

This book was so much better than book 1 in my opinion. I feel like royal forbidden romances are such a fun trope cuz it always adds a really dynamic element to the plot. I loved Tristan and Sara and felt they were so much deeper, complex, and loveable than the MCs in book one. There were a few scenes I didn’t particularly care for and a few plot holes that had me a little confused but overall i enjoyed it. The plot was good and the romance was believable. it felt like they actually had a connection beyond the smut lol

the main characters had good chemistry, but i didn’t particularly love the FMC. Thought she was a little insufferable/dull. Plot was okay, there were a few holes, but I enjoyed the twists at the end. Glad I read it overall. I’m not in a rush to read the other books but I might if I find them available
