Four books in and I think I finally know what my problem with Dune/Herbert's writing is - his ideas were simple way to grand for his, or anyone's really, literary tallent. I still don't get the whole golden path thing and maybe I never will, but this understanding lets me actually enjoy the books!

My favorite Dune book so far but I think it wasn't the best idea to read it as an audiobook. Either that or I'm too stupid for Herbert's convoluted ideas lol

I wish I could say Paul is a well written villain but I usually have at least a little sympathy for them, which I just cannot find in myself here, so idk. Also # Chani deserves better 2k24.
