I bought one copy for the cover and then bought a signed copy from the author because of the description. It’s lighthearted and relaxing. A perfect addition to your cozy book collection. Pick it up if you like great British bake off and tasty recipes!

This is the last catch up post and my last post from Ireland. Fan Girl Down by QUEEN @tessabaileyisanauthor was my first venture into golf romance. I wasn’t expecting much because golf doesn’t seem sexy to me 😅 but leave it to Ms Bailey to change my mind. This book was cute, got me a bit in my feels but also had some great funny moments. A great book if you love sunshine/grumpy tropes and a strong willed FMC. 3.25 ⭐️ 3 🌶️
Deaf Utopia: A Memoir—and a Love Letter to a Way of Life by Nyle DiMarco

One of my prompts this year was “written by a deaf or hard of hearing author” I did Deaf Utopia as an audio book because I was busy around the house. It was a quick listen and so interesting! I feel so much more informed about the struggles people who are hard of hearing have gone through over the years. Fascinating and his interpreter did a wonderful job voicing @nyledimarco’s narrative. 5 ⭐️

If you see anything about Queen Dolly you must investigate. I saw this book and thought about how much I enjoyed Dolly Parton’s America so I borrowed this audiobook (she reads it). I didn’t read the blurb, so I thought this was a memoir and quickly realized it was a documentation of her outfits. While this isn’t a special interest of mine it was fun learning about her designers and just hearing her voice in my ear. It’s a quick read or listen and totally worth it- 5 ⭐️

I am always trying to find a good nonfiction book that checks my interest boxes. This one combines conservation, nature, animals, politics and science. It’s entertaining and I truly found it fascinating. I felt like it went hand in hand with Once There Were Wolves by @charlottemcconaghy  which I also read in May. 3 ⭐️

Sierra Simone is one of those authors that I will always pick up. This book fit two prompts for me and was totally adorable. It’s lighthearted and funny. It’s all about self discovery (maybe a theme for me this year) and second chances. 3.5 ⭐️

I was waiting for months for The Woman In Me by Britney Spears on @libby.app and I was not disappointed. I do hate that she didn’t read it herself and I might be convinced to believe the conspiracies surrounding the book. While she didn’t read it, Michelle Williams did an amazing job and I’d highly recommend the audiobook. 5 ⭐️

This year I joined a classic book club in another city with a friend. Handmaids Tale was the pick of the month when I joined. I’ve seen the show but hadn’t read the book yet. With everything happening in the world right now, it was sometimes difficult to read. It’s dark y’all and hopefully makes you think and reflect. 4.5 ⭐️
