The Turn of the Screw by Henry James

4.5

I've never read any Henry James stories before. But I've always been intrigued by his writing style and especially by The Turn of the Screw. And I have to say once you get used to the writing style it's a very fascinating and complex read. That gets you the reader thinking! And the other stories featured in this collection all explore the same themes in different yet very engaging ways and it's a very worthwhile read.

Miles Ever After features 4 fantastic extended epilogues to the original 4 stories:

⭐The Stopover
⭐The Takeover
⭐The Casanova
⭐The Do Over.

And each story is full of laughter, heat, swearing and sweetness. Oh and in some cases lots of kids!

But it also tackles fertility issues and how that impacts one particular couple especially when everyone around them seems to be breeding like rabbits.

And it was a great read. That genuinely reminded me what fabulous characters these are and I hope there are more stories to come featuring the next generation, especially Eddie, Patrick and Fletcher.

I would definitely recommend this series, and will be re-reading the original stories. Although probably not in order as I do have particular favourites!
