I can appreciate the author trying to show that love in real life can be messy and not perfect. BUT I really couldn't bring myself to root for the main characters. The way they treated so many other people as place holders and strung them along and hurt them frustrated me. Especially Sarah! She seemed to be the type of friend who would have understood if they had just been honest and communicated in the beginning. Literally everything could have been avoided if they had. I just feel like conveying love in a messy real world way could have been done in a way that didn't completely remove my ability to connect and come to love the main characters.
