I just really love the mystery of Thornchapel and the valley, I love the mix of the erotic with the myths and legend of old and the reminder that anything can be holy.

It's wild how well these books are written to give you such a clear image of what's happening on page, I can see it all in my mind so clearly and it's wonderful

I just wish it was longer, I always finish the murder bot books wishing for more. I love the tight quick action, the way characters are introduced and made loveable so quickly, the way despite what could be perceived as a difficult narrator I always come out understanding everything the way I want, I'm not puzzling over action scenes or trying to place people, it's exactly what you want from something like this.

This was just plain fun, you know what you're getting when going into it and it delivers perfectly. Sexy and silly and cute and enjoyable all the way through.

I wanted to like this more, I just don't feel like there was enough work done to really make a full story, the world needed a lot more building out. Characters' desires needed more justification rather than just telling us why they are what they are. There was just too much telling and not enough showing and I was left feeling disappointed and unable to really invest in any of the characters in the end.

A little slow to start but once I was hooked that was it for me. This story was something I couldn't stop thinking about when I wasn't actively reading, I loved the slow reveal of history alongside the current action. It kept things interesting and vibrant, the characters were delightful and very much within the same sort of feel I've gotten from books by Weird. I really appreciate the balance of the technical science aspects of his stories with the real human elements to keep it relatable to those of us without science degrees. It makes it all feel more real, more like some possible maybe not so distant future and you can't help but put yourself in that same situation as you read. I loved this and I'll be thinking about it for a while yet.
