I think this book was stretched out in some parts, but I honestly loved it and I didn't mind the ending at all?! I thought it was very sweet, I did however hate
Finnick's death! and not only because I love him but it was honestly so unnecessary and I don't think it added anything except MORE loss for Katniss because finnick in a way IS her bestfriend if you avoided whatever the fuck was going on with gale. And he had a child?!?! He just got married?? He finally got that OUNCE of happiness and he just gets killed off like hasn't he suffered ENOUGH?? and then the shock when I find out that Suzanne regretted his death like come on why did you do it in the first place!!!

Also as much as I dislike gale as a character I don't get the unnecessary hate he gets, like he's a perfect example of a CHILD made solider who is corrupted by war and loss, cut him some slack.
also y'all act as if he lit prim up himself? When you should be blaming and directing the that energy towards COIN for issuing the bombs that killed chilren including prim, he literally said he didn't know it would be used that way and he wasn't alone in making them, betee is a partner in this as well

Also fuck Coin that bitch had it coming from a mile away.

SUZANNE, WHEN I CATCH YOU, SUZANNE!!
Truly no words just LOTS of A7As were said (Im Egyptian okay that's how we show emotion) and yes I cried like alot, I am not ashamed.
But really I saw the movies before I decided to read the books and the books are so layered that you have to take a moment to think about everything that's happening and Oh my God the ending?!?! She had no business?!?!

“You could live a hundred lifetimes and not deserve him, you know,”

Peeta, OH PEETA, I love him so much, you don't understand, he's such a loyal, faithful, amazing person.
The way he puts the no shit mask once the quell was announced and drags Katniss and haymitch out of the self pity hole they threw themselves into
, the way he was SO ready to give up his life for her and consistently reminded her of her importance and
NEVER tried to push anything out of her unlike a person we know (cough*gale*cough)
but really the love they have for eachother (even if Katniss didn't realise it yet) is so powerful that she was ready to kill everyone in a heartbeat if that meant saving his life and keeping him safe!!! Agh!!

"no one really needs me" he says
"I do," I say "I need you"

CUT THE CAMERAS??? HELLO??? AND SHE HAS THE AUDACITY TO SAY
"GABE IS MINE AND I AM HIS"
NONSENSE LIKE EW, don't even get me started on that! (It just feels like incest I don't like to talk about it)

(I also giggled every time Johanna or finnick were mentioned, leave me alone okay)

And really I could go forever talking about the depths of these books and the hidden massages in it (so sorry to my friends that had to endure 2 hours of book talk) because it's so interesting esp in the lights of recent events ans everything currently going around in the world (keep them in your prayers please) and knowing she was writing these books based on the iraq war takes it to a whole new level that I find really interesting to explore and think about!
