This was my first Stuart book and I really liked it. This book was intensely difficult at times but I'm still glad I read the story. The character growth although traumatic af was taken into very deep consideration . I would like to read more from Stuart in the future to come.

WOW
What a treasure. This is absolutely going to be best book of the year if not top three. It was such an amazing read. The story and the writing was great, I truly connected and I feel as though I found a companion in this memoir. This illness leaves one prone to loneliness. I didn't feel so lonely after reading this book.

Idk guys, this one was eh. First half was at least somewhat enjoyable to read. Part II was a complete let down and ruined the book for me.

*** I was really enjoying this book (IGNORANCE IS BLISS)... up until I felt like the author's comments on the transgender topic. Teddy who chose to be referred to as a boy, who was born a girl named flora, ends up being a kid that was kidnapped when they were younger. Then when the mystery is solved Mallory is more upset about the kid being "forced" to wear boy clothes and refers to them as "she" again than the kid being kidnapped. Now if they did force the kid to wear boy-rendered clothes to hide the fact that they stole this child, that's one thing, but it was just a weird way to bring the story together. The boundary to transphobic was a bit much. Lots of unspoken comments on religion, science, and the transgender community ... idk how to feel
