The beginning of the book was actually really good and I was hooked but then idk it kinda became repetitive and I got bored. I didn’t feel the chemistry between the main characters when they were older compared to when they were younger. Idk if it’s the book that I didn’t like or the writing. I’ll have to read a few of LJ Shen’s book first before I make my conclusions

2 stars but because of Maximus it’s a 3⭐️. This man is way too good for her.
I just don't understand wtf went through Sara's head?? She went through something traumatic yeah ok I get it but the way she was selfish and didn't care about Maximus' trauma shocked me. Her entire family reacted as if he raped her on his own will and wasn't forced to do that with a gun pointed to them.
I mean would they have preferred to see her dead? Or raped by all the Russians? Honestly Cara and Ryan are better than me because if it was my child that got treated that way Maximus was treated? I would've gone berserk...
To top that Sarah instead of going to therapy and help her with her trauma she decided to force Max to have sex with her again when she's the most fertile. And still don’t give a shit about how he feels and even goes as far as telling him “you ow me this” I mean girl wtf? This is emotional manipulation at its finest!
Like I said before if I could entire a book and slap some sense into the main characters I swear I would've done it with Sara...

The fmc spend the entire book chasing after the Mmc who clearly didn’t care about her. He only wanted her when other men were interest in her. Sorry but no… This type of behavior = 🚮

So I don’t really know how to put this in words but I’m a little disappointed and at the same time I kinda expected it?
I gave this book 3 stars (maybe because I did a RR and then dived directly into the syndicater) but to be honest if it wasn’t for seeing them all together,… it would’ve been a 2.50 ⭐️.
Nothing happened for the entire book until what 75-80%? Let’s be honest we all knew that vin was going to die on that mission, we all knew that Tristan’s mom was the one who took Luna and gave her to the syndicate so once again it wasn’t really shocking.
On the other hand what actually annoyed me is the fact that Morana had been wanting to know her name her father’s name,… and the moment she had the opportunity she decided to not take it even if Dainn said that she could ask when she was ready. I also was hoping to have a better understanding of the syndicater but he got what 3-4 really short chapters.
All in all I still enjoyed this book but I’m a little disappointed even though I respect that this is the way Runyx wanted the story to end.
