the only reason i’m giving this a 1 is because of the authors efforts into writing and publishing a book. but if you went in thinking this story would be similar to edward rutherfords works you’d be mistaken. it’s very confusing and easy to lose track of characters as there’s a zillion characters in the book. plus, pretty much every page you turn to has something to do with sex. i want to read a story not 50 shades of grey set in early manhattan. disappointed.

picked up this book at the philadelphia museum of the american revolution and it’s perhaps one of the best books i’ve read on the argument of america. as someone who grew up overseas before moving to this great country, my family joked around that i was “born an american”. the book really idolizes everything that is great about this country, and is very inspiring, informative and hopeful on matters concerning the founding of the US.
