Thank you NetGalley for the ARC ✨

It was an interesting concept the book being told from a child’s perspective. The narrative was therefore young, imaginative and quite scattered. I personally found it made the journey quite slow.

Sometimes the language and thoughts were incredibly young and others were very mature. So for me the tone did lack some consistency.

However, I think it did cleverly show the tale of loss and confusion that a child would experience by secrets adults keep to protect and shelter their children

On a side note the cover is absolutely enchanting and drew me in.

I found this way more amusing than I probably should have. More renowned authors need to take the Micky out of themselves and their genre. I snorted in public when listening to this 🫣

This book gave such strong Bridget Jones vibes I loved it! I thought the idea of a ghost author was a clever idea. I felt the romance was a bit rushed and we didn’t have much romantic content of them to build tension. Regardless it was very sweet and feel good. I read these pages at such a rapid rate because the FMC antics amused me so much!
