mentally checked out when he threatened to bend her over the desk the first time they talked, I tried to keep reading to give it a chance but both the mcs were annoying and the writing was bad, I obviously don't know because I didn't finish it but I get the feeling this would have been all random tropes tacked onto cardboard cutouts

I've never read why choose before but I read the dare and I figured if any book was ever going to be my gateway it would be this but idk, I like the plot, the characters are well rounded and I'm enjoying the progression or the story, the writing is great, but too much is going on. I don't want my review to discourage anyone from reading the book, it's good, but it's not for me, I'm curious about part II but at the same time I'm dreading reading it because if I'm being honest I don't like Vincent and Jason very much and even knowing I like Lucas I really only get excited about reading when things are about Jess and Manson, which defeats the purpose of reading why choose, I understand that, but it’s how I feel. I think if this is your thing this book is a must read though.

There was nothing particularly wrong with the book it was just kinda meh, it was a little boring. I don't mind a longer book, I love staying with the couple for a while and really getting to see how they work together but this felt more like the author was trying to cram as many sex scenes as possible into a book without even making the sex scenes that good or emotionally impacting. If you liked the concept but not the execution I recommend Play With Me by Becka Mack. They're not exactly the same but I couldn't help but compare the books while reading and I found that one much better.

The writing is cringy, *cue evil grin* is not something I want to read in any book ever, or any variation of the *random cringy thing* format for that matter, which happened more than once up until where I read.
Lilly, the fmc, has an incredibly annoying personality. Keller, the mmc, has frankly concerning moodswings that got tiring to read about very quickly.
The nail in the coffin though,
was Keller wanting to be called my king in bed. I wish I had the words to describe how much I hated that, I really do.
