I wanted so badly to like this book. I hope that the popularity of this title leads to more mainstream hyped books with Jewish main characters and Hanukkah! All that being said, the jokes did not land and the level that one has to suspend disbelief to go along with the plot is unreal. I loved the representation of chronic illness in our main character, but I don’t recommend this book as a romance or a comedy.
