The last book really was much more enjoyable than the other two. It was good to see other viewpoints and understand more what the motivations behind people's actions were. Also the main character finally had some character development of not being so silly and naive anymore

The main character is still written to be kinda naive, dumb and obsessively focused on love, which is annoying. The ending of the book did add a lot to the story and to the reasoning why the villain would act like such a shitbag all the time. However, I still feel like I would like the story better if it wasn't a love story. I just like less lying, manipulation and mean ridiculing in my love stories I guess. Apart from the questionable lovestory, the plot is pretty interesting though and I think I liked it more than the last book.

I always knew I would love this book and I wasn't wrong. It is a sweet and relaxing book, which makes me feel like I am following the lives of people known and dear to me. While some of the things about it are (understandably) old-fashioned, the book still has so many wise words and sweet outlooks on life to learn from. Makes me happy, cozy, and emotional. What a sweet book.

Wanted something super easy and cozy while I do my chores.
Some stories were better than the others but I guess they all tried to have a lesson behind them. There were stories that I would rate 3 or lower but also stories that were more around 4, or slightly above.

I truly enjoyed the Caraval series some years ago, and I still very much love the worldbuilding in this story, but this book does not hit as good as the Caraval series did. Either I have changed or the book just is lacking depth compared to the other serie.
I feel like a lot of characters are very simple-minded, the main character is so all-over the place and strangely trusting of Jacks, even though she keeps on reminding herself not to trust him. She can't seem to make up her mind about a lot of things, but it can be understandable as she is just 17 years old. However, what annoys me the most is the very forced, toxic and unnecessary love story the author is trying to build for the main characters. I just can't get behind that, as throughout the whole book we (and the main character) are told and shown that Jacks is manipulative and shitty and could not be trusted. So how and why is this supposed to turn into love? Honestly annoyed by it but the story itself is pretty interesting so I'll go for the next book.
