Probably the best school novel we had to read. The ending disappointed me a bit but it fit the rest of the book.

Very One-Direction-fanfiction-esque. I love to read about fame and behind the scenes. Very easy to read and very hard to put down. The ending felt a bit rushed and a little too open for my taste tho

Though confusing at times (a result of the constant switch of narrator) very amusing and fun to read
Could have been a bit shorter

Schwab's writing style always pulls me in. The story is not necessarily new, we have seen those kinds of plot points before. And yet, I was not bored. I could not put the book down. Her characters always look at the world from such a unique point of view. The fantasy elements were easy to understand.

What confused me a bit was the ending: They didn't solve the problem of insanity, so it's only a matter of time before Death prevails. Or would her death seal the gate forever? But still, she'd lead a life of suffering.

Read this in a day. Bawled my eyes out for the end of the 15th and the entirety of the 16th chapter. Absolutely wonderful. Aubrey healed something within me.
