Took way too long to become slightly interesting and half the time i didn’t know why I was reading. It took me the longest time to read just because I didn’t feel like reading it ever. Also, Murakami has to be a big pervert to not be able to contain his sexual fantasies from his books.

This book is unlike anything I’ve ever read. It is a beautifully sad, yet real story of a life so significant yet discreet, as well as its suffering and struggle between accepting the good in it while fighting the wrongs that have been done to it. Without exaggerating, I cried every time I sat down to read it. There were no exceptions. It started with my eyes getting watery or something inside me twitching in empathy, and escalated to me sobbing uncontrollably, so much so that I could not keep reading because of the tears in my eyes, even though I wanted to. Never have I seen such real characters, so well described, without falling into any stereotype. The writing is so amazing, so modern and accessible, without taking out the precision with which this story was told. I will never forget this book. I have learned so much from it. It is almost 800 pages yet I wish I could have more.
