I don't particularly like reading war books, but this was satire, so it made it better. I thought that the humor was good, the illustrations a little revealing, but it was an easy two day read.
I am reading this for a scholarship contest.
I'm still not a big fan of Victorian era novels. They draw out everything, and take too long to explain one event. I think that mysteries such as this tend to build up some great expectation and then disappoint later on. Oh well, now I can say I read it.

I met the author of this book and she was a very nice lady, but I have to say that this book was borderline torturous. Not as many descriptions of eating/food in this one, but the story was just plain boring. I would not read the third installment for any reason, but I did buy it for the author to sign.
This book was very short and easy to read, but it was also a good interpretation of reincarnation, striving to perfection. Not much more to say.
I guess I'm not a fan of politics, since I found this book useless and not entertaining. If it wasn't a project for school, I wouldn't have even picked it up.
I read this book years ago, so I don't recall much. I do remember that I enjoyed it, and that it was an easy read.
This series is interesting in that the main characters are wild cats. Never before were the thoughts and actions of felines played out in such a way. I really enjoyed this first installment.
Wow, what a difference from the Disney version. I have to say that Disney has completely corrupted this wonderful but depressing tale. The gothic feel to this novel was very intense and the symbolism in the cathedral was very vivid. I thorougly enjoyed this, save for the lengthy descriptions and the fact that it has been translated, so the language quality is lost.
By far my favorite in the trilogy, The Return of the King has everything a fantasy lover wants: war, orcs, elves, etc. The conclusion of this series is stunning and the additional material at the end that is not seen in the film is a perfect ending to the series.
Again, Martin proves his otherworldly writing ability and his genius level knack of perfectly portraying the thoughts, emotions and actions of characters, both big and small. This fourth installment of the unrivaled series does not disappoint on any level. The battles are intense, each skirmish feels like it is happening right in front of you. Each raw human emotion, despair, fury, ecstasy, lust are so deeply described that the reader might as well expect each character to jump out of the pages. Martin has no lack for surprises either. Don't grow to fond of any character because you don't know who will live and who will suffer a painful, gruesome death. Satisfying, addicting, everything you want out of a book and more. The best 1000 pages I've read since this books predecessor.
