No one weaves a bleak setting better than Atwood. Every word is chosen with care, every turn of phrase a miniature poem. I couldn't put it down.
This book drew on so many existing YA tropes, I thought it would be bad. But it was actually great, a light little page-turner. Everyone wants to reinvent the wheel but originality is not as important as execution. The author is a wordsmith and has created an interesting premise. Enjoyable.
