I straight up didn't understand half of this book and it didn't matter in the slightest because the author is so bloody good at what he does.

I had a lot of fun reading this one, it was probably a 3, but by the next day I had forgotten it existed.

I loved the dnd vibe

Meh, if I was to study it for a class I'm sure I could pull the clever bits out and sing it's praises but I don't want to.
It was whiney.

Sometimes I see a book and think "fuck it, im going in" and yes I saw this cover, read about how she gets a job milking Minotaur men and decided I was doing it.

And what do you know the world is bloody great. Don't let the regency era cover vibes fool you, it's set in the modern times and all the mythical creatures live amongst humans and well a great way for Minotaur men to make extra cash is by offloading their spunk. The more they donate, the more they get paid.

I love that the romance genre knows no boundaries.

Will I be going back for book 2, absolutely it has a mothman in it. Give me that emo bad

Im a bit torn on this one. I loved it, but it felt a bit simple, maybe only because there isn't a lot of backwards and forwards with the romance. He lays all his cards out on the table, pretty much straight away. The barn scene is my favourite. I liked the way the past and present stories were intertwined.
The writing is solid.
I think part of the reason I found it lacking is because I read two top-notch romances straight after.

I loved this. It has everything you could want; A traumatic back story, enemies to lovers, step siblings, only fans, fully fleshed out supporting characters. The character growth is *chefs kiss. The sexy scenes are froth worthy and i love a golden retriever emo dude.
Sometimes i jump into a romance and know it is going to be good, but it doesn't go to deep. It just touches the edges and gives you enough plot to get you through. Nyla K. never does that. They dive in so deep, they don't hold back or cut corners. The drag you into the characters world and you can't put the book down.
