I’ve read a few beta copies since joining Bookstagram, and at this point over a hundred arcs and hundreds of other books… thousands if we consider life pre-Bookstagram and of all the books I’ve read, I have NEVER felt as invested in a fantasy story as I was, as I still am, as I may always be… in JR Cathers’ upcoming masterpiece. I mean it with my whole heart when I say, if this book isn’t the next big thing, sitting on shelves next to all the big names… then we as a book loving community have failed. The treasure trove that is this book left me battling emotion after emotion, theory after theory, plot thickener after plot thickener… in the very best of ways. This book has been my favorite fantasy read in as long as I can remember and I do not say that lightly, I feel like I have rediscovered what it is to fall in love with a book with this one. ♾️⭐️. I can’t even rate it out of 5 because that is just plain inadequate. JR CATHERS… you amaze me.

Thank you NetGalley, macaudio25 and Sarah Pekkanen. Sarah Pekkanen has quite an ability to take turns that I actually don’t see coming which makes her books more enjoyable than most thriller/mystery books for me. This book had me listening intently and even re-reading parts of the ebook while listening to the audio to see if I could solve things. I thought the narration was really well done and I felt like I was in it with the sisters. Definitely enjoyed this book in both formats.

This was a fun audiobook, the narration was quite well done and the story was fun to listen to. It was one of those books that I'm glad I picked up because I'd been seeing it for a while. It's a fun and quirky little supernatural romance that doesn't take itself too serious.

What can I say... yet another banned book that is banned for absurd reasons. Yes, it has LGBTQIA+ representation... so of course it's banned... how absolutely tragically cliche. But alas, that's why I read some of the books I do... so that I can be one more voice shouting into the void against the insanity that is book banning. That all said, I enjoyed this book, I thought the characters were very engaging and the reality of self-discovery was so relatable despite the differences in time and culture. I am so grateful books like this exist, to share perspectives that so many of us cannot even begin to understand.

Thank you NetGalley, Forever, and Anna E Collins for the opportunity to read this ARC. I absolutely tore through this story. It made the endorphins pop with loads of angst, laughter, tension, fantastic supporting characters, and a plot that left me wanting a copy of the finished calendar. (But really, can I get one?!) I adored this book so much, as a dog lover, a marketer, a nature lover, and someone who thought they might make a good lawyer once upon a time. I really hope we’ll get a follow up book with best friend + brother romance! I can’t wait to see what Collins thinks up next.

This was a really interesting book for me because I felt incredibly invested in the historical timeline but equally uninterested in the current timeline. I think that may be because the historical characters were just further developed and more intriguing but it was a little tricky for me as a result. That all said though, I did very much enjoy this book and still would recommend giving it a read.

Thank you NetGalley, St Martin’s Press, and Elle McNicoll for the opportunity to read this ARC! I was so heart warmed by the featuring of neurodiverse characters throughout this book. It’s something you don’t often see in romance books, and perhaps that contributes to people not considering the struggles that neurodivergent people face when navigating not only platonic interpersonal relationships, but romantic ones as well. The characters were endearing, the side cast was enjoyable… and then of course there were the more frustrating and flawed side characters that really made you want to shake the ignorance right out of them. I really appreciated this story and hope to read more by this author in the future.

Well that was a damn ride… there were moments reading this book where I was waiting for it to pick up the pace, where during some of the “past lives”, I found myself a little less engaged… but then it paid it all off so fully… There are obviously characters I loathed (bc they were terrible and cruel) and then there was the perfect Emil and the lovely Alina and the flawless Crustos. I find so often the side characters really make the story so much more whole for me and this was no exception. I can’t wait to dive into book 2!

Thank you to NetGalley, Kelley Armstrong, and Forever for the opportunity to read this ARC. I’ve read a few sports romances recently and I have to say, this was one of my favorites! I love the layered dynamics, the fact that the characters weren’t super young, and that the FMC had her own budding career as an author. It was a fun ride with defeating the mean girl from HS and rekindling a 2nd chance romance with a HS crush. Really enjoyed this one!
