Thank you Macmillan Audio, Runyx, and NetGalley for the opportunity to listen to this ALC.
Dark romance/dark academia/young adult … 3 tropes I usually don’t gravitate towards but yet… this book held me captive. I found myself on the edge of my proverbial seat, not wanting to press pause, extending my workouts and pausing my “chores” because I was so invested.

Thank you so much Netgalley, Sloan Harlow, and PENGUIN GROUP Penguin Young Readers Group | G.P. Putnam's Sons Books for Young Readers for the opportunity to read and review this ARC.
This book had me in it's grips from the very beginning. My heart broke and rebuilt in the pages of this one. The love and saving grace of found family during the worst days and the devastation of not knowing the truth, only to find out some of the people you trusted the most were the very same people responsible for your deepest traumas.

From a book banning perspective ... SHUT UP ALREADY... there is nothing in this book that should keep it out of the hands of people. Do I think that you should pay attention if your kid is reading it, and then have the IMPORTANT and tough discussions about suicide, alcohol use, smoking, and sexual activity... YES but let's be honest, you should be having those conversations already anyways as a responsible and caring parent or caregiver.
From a literary perspective... I found this book well written and engaging. I didn't like the characters, but not because they were underdeveloped... but rather because they as "humans" weren't my cup of tea... that was part of the allure of the book through. It highlighted some of the "worst" or flawed parts of adolescence that we don't like... certainly in ourselves... but even in others.
This really was a good read, and from an audio perspective, the narration was well done.

Oh Abby Jimenez... you brilliant, brutal woman. This book is once again, a life changer. Say You'll Remember Me is rife with quotable moments, quirky animal side-kicks, relatable inside jokes, and snippets of future main characters. This book brought back so many beautiful and traumatic memories of our time watching my grandma fade and lose herself, it reminded me how hard my own mother had to work to balance being a caregiver, a full time career, and having any sense of a personal life and how unfair memory loss and loss of identity really is for everyone it touches. Abby highlighted the magical and meaningful work that happens in veterinary medicine. She broached the tough subjects of physical, verbal and psychological abuse by a parent, and touched on alcoholism. This story is filled with found family in the best ways and had me laughing, crying, and cursing Abby's name (because it really hits hard).

To start, tha audio was really well done, and I loved the way the plot was broken out into 4 perspectives and voices. The whole concept of this book was so interesting and different from anything I've ever read. It felt like a mix of pre and post apolcalyptic sci-fi + fantasy + darkish romance + mythology + tech-driven. At no point while reading did I really know what was going to happen next.

This audio was really well done, and the story was a slow burn queer romance that tackled tough topics ranging from medical complications from intravenous drug use, to family pressure, to violence against medical personnel, to bias against lgbtq people, to the challenges of workplace romance and more. It was a slow and steady evolution and definitely a good read.

Magical realism meets historical fiction meets generational female strength and power meets multiple timelines. This book was a fabulous mashup of all things wonderful about communing with nature and all things evil about the repeated cycle of abuse towards women at the hands of evil men. (Don’t worry, there are examples of good men in it, too - we’re not just man hating over here)
If this is what people call witches, then I’d be proud to be called a witch.

Thank you to Forever Pub, Netgalley, and Nisha J Tuli for the opportunity to read and review this ARC.
What can I say about this book that could possibly do it justice? I absolutely loved it. I loved every moment of reading this book from the tough subject matters that came up, to the gruelingly slow burn, to the tension of the main characters and the stress and angst of the environment. Everything about this book was perfect. It was balanced and engaging, and when it ended, I wanted to re-read it all over again (but I fought the urge). You're going to want to pick this book up, and never put it down. It's a read in one-sitting, ignore your responsibilities, and stay up until morning, kind of read.

Thank you BookSirens, I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This book felt like a mix of Alice in Wonderland, the Matrix, Fantasia, all mixed with a whole lot of something new and different. It was such a different and engaging concept and I really came to love the characters. All in all, this was a really enjoyable read.
